Having nightmares and/or flashbacks because of your trauma.
Getting intensely physically or emotionally upset when you’re reminded about your trauma, even when it is a seemingly small thing that reminded you.

EMDR is a process of bilateral stimulation that can help someone reprocess difficult trauma. It can be done online and in-person, and is one option for trauma processing. It can be emotionally intense, but it can also finally bring resolution for some people. It is best to discuss with your therapist to see if you’re a good fit.

Trauma is large and multi-dimensional, and can take time and patience. There isn’t a “work” and “not work”, so long as you are feeling heard and safe with your therapist, and you are making progress with symptoms, then you are making progress. Your therapist can create realistic treatment goals with you so you two are on the same page.
